Kaiarahi Ngaitahutanga Project
The Kaiarahi Ngaitahutanga project sits under the korowai o Te Rûnanga o Ngâi Tahu who administer these Ministry of Education funds. This project is one of a number of rûnaka based projects which are facilitating relationships with schools around the Kâi Tahu takiwâ.
The overarching objective of the Kaiarahi Ngaitahutanga project is to seek to develop a relationship with a cluster of East Otago schools on behalf of Kati Huirapa Rûnaka ki Puketeraki.
The duel objectives are to establish a Memorandum of Partnership with schools who want to formalize their relationship with the rûnaka and to offer schools resource materials based on two themes.
Theme One - “Our Place” is intended to cover information about the marae and its associated hapû
Theme Two – Our Area” is to cover place names and their cultural associations.
